Consultation has concluded
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on proposed improvements to the cycle network on Anderson Road and Aubrey Road in Wanaka.
We received over 120 submissions and lots of positive comments. We've published all of the feedback and responses from the project team - take a look at the document library on the right of this page.
Next Steps
Following the positive response, we will now start detailed design work on the project with a view to start construction soon. Part of this involves trialing the closure of Wilkin Road to make it safer for shared path users.
Wilkin Road Trial Closure details
The trial closure will run from 12.00pm Monday 18 November to 12.00pm Monday 25 November 2019.
Wilkin Road will be closed off at the intersection of Anderson Road using temporary traffic management. Appropriate signage and detours will be in place.
Pedestrian access will still be available between Wilkin Road and Anderson Road.
Traffic counters will be installed to monitor the traffic volumes during the trial closure.
For Wilkin Road residents between Anderson Road and Ragan Lane, rubbish collection will still occur on Friday. The rubbish truck will not be able to turn around at the closed end of Wilkin Road so we will have someone shift your bins down closer to Ragan Lane. Bins will be placed back outside your property by the end of the day. Please ensure your bins are outside your property prior to 7.00am on Friday.
Affected residents are invited to provide feedback on the proposed trial by 2 December 2019. Use the feedback form below.
