Proposed Wanaka Cycle Lanes - Aubrey and Anderson Road

We're proposing to make some improvements to the cycle network on Anderson Road and Aubrey Road in Wanaka.

The proposed projects will provide separate cycle and pedestrian lanes, making it much safer for people who choose to use active transport as their every-day way to travel.

We've provided some key details on each proposal below. You can also download the plans to view the full proposed route.

Make sure you have your say using the online feedback form below or come along to one of our drop-in sessions on 4 September.

Proposed Anderson Road Cycleway

The proposed shared path is on the eastern side of Anderson Road and will link State Highway 84 (Wanaka-Luggate Highway) to Aubrey Road. Some key points about the proposed cycle lane include:

  • two lane, 3m wide shared cycle/pedestrian lane
  • asphalt surface
  • Safe crossing points in appropriate locations
  • Removal of some parking to improve safety
  • Proposed to be completed in two stages
