Queenstown Gardens Succession Plan

Glenorchy Airstrip Reserve Management Plan
The Glenorchy Airstrip Reserve Management Plan (RMP) is under review. We've already gathered insights and suggestions from airstrip users and the wider community to inform potential changes.
Formal consultation on a new RMP will open on 28 April 2025.
Eely Point Tree Succession Plan

Climate and Biodiversity Plan 2025-2028
An updated plan which sets out how QLDC will work with community partners to respond to biodiversity loss and climate change in Queenstown Lakes.
Feedback opens 30 May 2025.
Waste Management and Minimisation Plan 2025-2031
A six year plan to guide for how the district will minimise and manage its waste to protect resources and the environment.
Formal consultation opens 30 May 2025.
Freedom Camping Bylaw
A new Freedom Camping Bylaw is being developed and is expected to be out for formal consultation in June 2025.
Local Water Done Well
Consultation on a preferred model for future water services delivery, in response to the government's Local Water Done Well legislation.
Formal consultation expected in June 2025.
Spatial Plan Gen 2.0
The Spatial Plan Gen 2.0 builds on earlier work completed in 2021, and will become part of our Future Development Strategy, which is a government requirement for all high growth councils in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Early engagement is expected to happen in June 2025, followed by a formal consultation process in 2026.
Arrowtown Riverside reserves Development Plan
A landscape concept that details where we propose to place physical things and maps how an area can be used by the community. This plan aims to provide a clear vision for the park that builds upon the work carried out over the past decade, including community engagement and previous designs.
Feedback is expected to open in May/June 2025.

Long Term Plan 2027-2037 - early engagement
An early opportunity to put forward ideas for new projects or investments, to be considered in time for the Long Term Plan 2027-2037. This process is expected to begin after the 2025 local body election.
