🏞️ About Sunshine Bay Reserve

The Sunshine Bay Reserve is located to the south of the Fernhill and Sunshine Bay communities, elevated above Glenorchy-Queenstown Road and the Sunshine Bay beach and boat ramp.

The main reserve area is accessed from the Fernhill Road frontage, featuring an open grassed space, informal walking tracks and a picnic table. Beyond this frontage, the reserve extends into two steep gullies containing creeks and is characterised by dense, established vegetation and existing Council infrastructure.

The reserve primarily serves the surrounding residential community, including local dog walkers. Public access to much of the reserve is limited due to the steep topography and extensive vegetation cover.

All feedback will be shared with elected members in the Community and Environment Committee ahead of its meeting on 20 October 2026. Feedback received during this engagement will help inform their decision making when considering to adopt the final plan.
