Consultation has concluded.  The Climate and Biodiversity Plan 2022-2025 can be read at www.qldc.govt.nz/climate-and-biodiversity

This survey has now closed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill it in.

We want to know how you think we can act on climate change.

In 2019 we developed our first Climate Action Plan. This plan outlines the actions our district needs to take to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change.

It’s now time to review the plan and make sure we are headed in the right direction and ensure we’re building on the great work done so far.

As part of the review, we want to hear from staff about how we can all contribute to climate action. We’ve already had some great suggestions from internal workshops and we’d now like to open feedback up to all staff.

Maybe you have some new ideas, maybe you want to share what you think the barriers are. We want to hear it all, and bold ideas are encouraged!

There are eight questions in our survey, ranging from individual action to organisation and district-wide change.

When answering these questions, please think about all aspects of climate change (adapting to the impacts of climate change, reducing carbon emissions, and restoring the natural world).

There is a $50 prize to be won

This can be spent at a local business that has a climate-friendly ethos, for example Sherwood Queenstown or Recycle Boutique, or on products that support low waste, for example a keep cup, beeswax wraps, an eco kitchen set (bamboo scrubbing brush, wool cloth etc.), or e-bike rental. We will work with you on finding something right for you.

This survey is open until Friday 13 August, 2021.

Thanks for your time!
